Privacy

Short version: you don't sign up, we don't collect personal details to let you play, and the only data we gather is anonymous, aggregate analytics used to improve the game.
No account, no personal details
You can play SpotTheWord without creating an account or giving us your name, email, or any other personal information. There is no login.
What's stored in your browser
Your game state stays on your device using your browser's local storage — it is not an account and it is not sent to us:
- Which difficulties you've completed today (so you play each once per day).
- Your best times.
- A random, anonymous identifier for your device (no name attached).
Clearing your browser data removes all of this.
Analytics
We use analytics to understand how the game is used so we can improve it. This data is anonymous and aggregate — it is not used to identify you personally. It may include things like:
- Pages viewed and how visitors arrive at the site.
- Which difficulties are played and how often games are completed.
- General technical details such as device type, browser, and approximate region.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for cross-site advertising or tracking. Analytics may be provided by a third-party processor acting on our behalf; where possible we prefer privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics.
Cookies
We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Any storage we rely on is the local storage described above, used only to run the game.
Children
SpotTheWordis a general-audience game and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since we don't collect personal information to play, this is minimal by design.
